DENTAL TREATMENT
PREVENTIVE TREATMENT
Preventive treatment is the practice of caring for one's teeth to keep them healthy. This helps to avoid cavities, gum disease, enamel wear, and more. There are many forms of preventive dentistry, such as daily brushing and annual dental cleanings. These practices are designed to ensure that teeth are clean, strong, and white. Children should be taught proper oral hygiene at an early age.
i. Check-up & Oral Hygiene Instructions
A check-up allows your dentist to see if you have any dental problems and helps you to keep your mouth healthy. Your dentist will suggest when you should have your next check-up based on how good is your oral health is. The time between check-ups can vary from three months to a year depending on how healthy your teeth and gums are and your risk of future problems.
ii. Scaling & Polishing
A scale and polish cleans your teeth very thoroughly. Scaling removes the hard tartar which forms on your teeth like scale inside a kettle. You can't remove it just by brushing your teeth. Scaling also removes trapped food and plaque containing millions of germs, which can cause tooth decay and gum disease. Stains from coffee, tea, cigarettes or red wine are also cleaned away when your dentist polishes your teeth. Once all the surfaces are smooth, the dental hygienist may polish your teeth. While polishing is done using a slow speed handpiece with a soft rubber cup that spins on the end. Prophylaxis paste is scooped up like ice cream into the cup and spun around on the teeth to make them shiny.
iii. Fissure Sealant
Fissure sealant is a light coating which is applied to these surfaces of teeth to produce a protection on enamel from bacteria that cause decay. Teeth often have areas that they are too difficult to clean so gradually collect plaque and bacteria.
Usually the molar teeth are the case of needing sealants, especially at a younger age.
Fissure sealant is usually a composite resin sealant; it requires a dentist to apply it for us. If there are deep fissures on a tooth, dental plaque can easily accumulate in these areas where toothbrush bristles cannot access to and clean these areas.

RESTORATIVE TREATMENT
Restorative treatment is the diagnosis and integrated management of diseases of the teeth and their supporting structures and the rehabilitation of the dentition to functional and aesthetic requirements of the individual. Restorative Dentistry includes the dental monospecialties of endodontics, periodontics and prosthodontics (including implantology), and its foundation is based upon how these interact in the management of cases requiring multifaceted care.
i. Fillings
Tooth coloured fillings are also called plastic or white fillings. Getting this kind of filling depends on where the tooth is in your mouth. To place this filling, your dentist cleans all decay from the tooth and puts a glue (or bonding material) on the inside of the hole.
Composite resin is put into the hole in thin layers. Each layer gets hard with the help of a special light that your dentist holds over the tooth. When the last layer of the filling is hard, your dentist shapes the filling so it looks and feels natural.

ii. Root Canal Treatment
Root canal treatment, also known as endodontic treatment, is the process of removing infected, injured or dead pulp from your tooth. The space inside the hard layers of each tooth is called the root canal system. Endodontic services aim to save the patient’s natural teeth by restoring dental health and function. Endodontics treatment is required when the inside of a tooth becomes infected or inflamed due to decay or trauma. The procedure involves the endodontist removing the source of infection by cleaning and shaping the space inside the root and then filling it to avoid future infection. Local anaesthesia is provided to ensure patient comfort, and the entire procedure may take up to three visits depending on the case.
iii. Crowns
A crowns is a cap used to cover over a tooth that may be broken or decayed to strengthen or improve the cosmetic appearance of the tooth. Crowning is a popular procedure.
Depending on the condition of the tooth, a root canal may be necessary before placing a dental crown on the tooth. The dentist will then trim the tooth down to make room for the crown. An impression of the tooth and the surrounding teeth will then be made to fabricate a crown. An acrylic crown will be put on the tooth in the meantime as a temporary measure. The permanent crown is put in place during a follow up visit. We promote full porcelain crown and porcelain bonded to metal crown.

iv. Post & Cores
A post and core (colloquially known as a "post" or "dental post") is a type of dental restoration used either to stabilize a weakened tooth or provide an anchor for a crown. Utilized when inadequate tooth structure remains to support a traditional restoration, it consists of the insertion of a small metal rod (known as a "post") into the root space of an affected tooth, leaving several millimeters protruding. The protrusion is then used to support a large filling, or anchor a crown.
v. Bridges
A dental bridge is an appliance used to fill a gap from a missing tooth. (or several teeth) by joining an artificial tooth permanently to adjacent teeth or dental implant. You can greatly enhance the appearance of your teeth and get a beautiful smile with dental bridging. The dentist begins bridgework by filing down the teeth to accommodate the crowns. Impressions of the teeth are made to create the dental crowns.
The false tooth (or teeth) will then be bonded to the crowns. The bridge will be put in place during a follow up visit.

vi. Periodontics
Periodontic treatment is refer to dentist who provide the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of periodontal disease. They are also experts in the treatment of oral inflammation. They care about the gum of the patients that have to be restored back to natural structure.

vii. Denture
Dentures, also known as false teeth, are prosthetic devices constructed to replace missing teeth. They are supported by the surrounding soft and hard tissues of the oral cavity. Conventional dentures are removable. However, there are many different denture designs, some which rely on bonding or clasping onto teeth or dental implants. There are two main categories of dentures, the distinction being whether they are used to replace missing teeth on the mandibular arch or on the maxillary arch.
When dentures are made, they must be custom fitted to the mouth of the dental patient. This can be done by taking precise measurements of the patient’s mouth or by creating an exact mold of the mouth. After being created, the dentures must be tried on and fitted to the mouth of the patient.

viii. Implant
Dental Implants are devices that replace the roots of lost teeth, and are used to support crowns, bridges or dentures. They are made of two parts, with the 'screw' or 'post', which acts as the root of the tooth, integrating into the bone and holding it in place.
In many cases, dental implants may be the only choice to restore all necessary functions of the teeth and supporting structures. An implant can replace a single missing tooth and multiple implants can be used to support a dental bridge for the replacement of multiple missing teeth. Implants can also be used to increase the retention of dentures, helping to minimize gum irritation. Another implant advantage is that they do not require the preparation of adjacent teeth that would be necessary for bridgework.

COSMETIC TREATMENT
Cosmetic treatment is general term used to refer to any dental work that improves the appearance (though not necessarily the function) of a person's teeth, gums and/or bite. Many dentists refer to themselves as "cosmetic dentists" regardless of their specific education, specialty, training, and experience in this field.
Cosmetic dentistry helps you to improve the appearance of your smile. Treatment such as dental bonding, teeth whitening, denture, veneers etc. Fortunately technological advances in cosmetic dentistry have made it possible to achieve the perfect smile that you always dreamed.

i. Teeth Whitening
Teeth whitening has become one of the most popular ways to enhance your smile. Whitening of the teeth is performed for patients who desire a brighter smile.
Tooth whitening can be performed to reduce discolouration and staining, or simply to provide the patient with whiter, brighter teeth. One visit is usually all it takes for a brighter and whiter smile.
Here, we promote 'Zoom in office whitening system'.
The Zoom! In-Office Whitening System uses proprietary technology to whiten your teeth an average of eight shades* in a little over an hour while you relax at your dentist's office. It's ideal for anyone who wants immediate results. The Zoom! Take-Home Whitening System uses a revolutionary patent-pending gel to whiten your teeth an average of six shades in three nights*. And you may go even lighter with additional applications. Start on Friday and by Monday you'll have a whole new smile.

ii. Veneers
Veneers are ultra-thin shells of ceramic (porcelain) or a composite resin material, which are bonded to the front of teeth. This procedure requires little or no anesthesia and can be the ideal choice for improving the appearance of the front teeth. Veneers are placed to mask discolorations, to brighten teeth and to improve a smile.
TOOTH EXTRACTIONS
Tooth extractions is the removal of a tooth from the mouth. Extractions are performed for a wide variety of reasons, including tooth decay that has destroyed enough tooth structure to render the tooth non-restorable. Extractions of impacted or problematic wisdom teeth are routinely performed, as the extractions of some permanent teeth to make space for orthodontic treatment. Tooth extraction generally takes an average of 30 minutes or less for removal of one or more tooth. The procedure is usually done after a local anaesthetic injection to prevent undue pain and stress on the patient.
Some people also have a sedative to help them relax.
Permanent tooth that has become completely non-vital and that can’t be saved using any other restorative procedures will have to be extracted. The tooth is normally checked to see its root condition i.e. whether there is potential breakage of root. If required, an X-ray examination will be done to ensure the whole root profile can be examined.
Many factors affect the complexity on an extraction such as the profile of the tooth, the condition of the gums, patient anxiety and also brittleness of the tooth structure. Your dentist will advise you on after care to help the healing process.

REMOVAL OF WISDOM TOOTH
Wisdom teeth are usually impacted (buried) in the jaw bone due to insufficient space for its eruption. A normal extraction cannot be done to remove it; therefore a minor oral surgery (MOS) is needed. The procedure is done under local anesthetic by an oral surgeon. Patient will be given medication pre and post treatment to minimize the discomforting conditions. In most cases, wisdom tooth cause the gum around them to inflame and swollen. Wisdom teeth can also trap food debris between causing decays at the tooth in front of it, hence need to be removed.
